Maggie and her daddy went on a field trip to Ft. Nisqually Living History Museum where they have a fur trading community from 1855. They got to go into the fort and take part in some old fashioned Christmas traditions. In case you are wondering...she's sitting in an outhouse in this photo. See what happens when you send Dad with the camera!
Maggie also had her first orchestra concert. She decided to play the cello this year and her beginners class performed a lovely rendition of Mary had a Little Lamb. I hope she sticks with it and some day she might be the member of a string quartet or youth symphony.
Meanwhile, Molly is perfecting her boo-boo face and mastering the techniques of the tantrum. She is really smart and although she spends her fair share of time in the time out chair (pictured here) and she self disciplines and even puts herself in the corner.
The second half of December brought snow...and more snow...and even more snow. We were all on our Christmas vacations and had just stocked the fridge so we were fine with all the white stuff. We made lots of cookies and snow angels and just enjoyed being together. When Christmas came, we celebrated all of our favorite traditions like new jammies for Christmas Eve (which we wear all day on Christmas) and a birthday cake for Jesus. We had to postpone a few get togethers because of the weather but it was a really nice Christmas. The best gift of all came in the form of our new nephew Theo born early Christmas morning!!
