He is Risen!

I intended to share a detailed account of our Easter traditions but my camera battery was dead (oops). We had a great week. We just don't have pictures to share it with you. We made Easter cookies and I think I found the sugar cookie recipe I've been searching for (more about that later). We held our traditional seder meal of lamb. We cut palm leaves for Palm Sunday and used them to decorate our table. Molly wanted to reinact the processional of Jesus entering town. She volunteered her sister to be the donkey. Ha! I love that kid. Her sister politely declined (not the least bit offended) and happily suggested her father take that role instead. They crack me up. One of the best part about our Easter week festivities was that Molly was old enough to really understand it. That was awesome. We filled baskets with goodies, all with a focus on the real meaning of the holiday and we took time to simply enjoy being a family.

I feel very fortunate to know Jesus and understand what He did for me and how much God loved me when He called Jesus to die for my sins. I know I don't deserve such a great gift. None of us do. And we can never do anything to deserve it. But He gave it to us anyway. That blows me away.

Happy Easter!
